Silt beside the Wilsons, red ridges on the Dunoon road
Stock held for Lismore and the valley is matched to which of those grounds you are on, and the truck is quoted to that road. A pin that only says Lismore might be silt beside Leycester Creek or a red ridge toward Dunoon. South Lismore can be too soft on a day when Dunoon still carries a truck.

Flats
What stays dry if the Wilsons rises
South Lismore, North Lismore and the blocks along the Wilsons and Leycester Creek are alluvial silt. The shell keeps rain off. It does not keep river water out once the sill is under, and an empty container can float and shift if the water is deep enough to lift it. Height is the protection.
Ridges
Basalt that holds on a day the flat should be left
Goonellabah, East Lismore and Girards Hill are the steep half. Further out, Dunoon, Nimbin, Clunes, Bexhill and The Channon are winding red-soil roads: tight corners, single-lane bridges, and stretches that have slipped and may still be held to one lane. Basalt out that way holds a truck on days when South Lismore silt should be left alone.
Renovation
A finish date nobody can name
Hire suits a house lift that might run long. Buying suits a ridge block that will still want a shed next year. Alstonville, 2477, can share a day when a second drop is already on that path. Casino, 2470 along the Bruxner, can too if the timing is said early.
Empty
Deep water and a light shell
People remember what an empty box did on the flats in a big flood. It is buoyant. Do not leave one in the path of water you have already seen move things. If the only dry pad is awkward for a rigid, a crane onto a stand is part of the same plan as the height.
River height and red ridges
If the Wilsons rises again, what inside the box stays dry?
Only what sits above the water. The steel will not seal against a river at the door. Put the floor above the level your block has already seen. Anything below that mark gets wet, lock or no lock.
What does deep water do to an empty container on the South Lismore flats?
It can lift it and put it somewhere you did not choose. Do not park an empty shell in a path the river has used. A full one is harder to move and is still not a reason to store valuables low.
Nimbin, Dunoon and Clunes are red ridges. What is still hard?
Tight corners, one-lane bridges, and sections that have slipped. The soil often carries on a day the flats do not. Send a photo of the narrowest bend. Machinery and feed are the usual contents, and the truck still has to turn.
