The drive crests, then turns. That is the Gympie problem

Stock held for Gympie is matched to the hill or the valley block, and the delivery is quoted to that drive. A tilt bed needs a run of length and a grade that stays roughly continuous while the deck rises. A crest and a turn in the middle is the most common reason a drop here has to be rethought.

4570 does not tell you the crest

Hills

4570 does not tell you the crest

Gympie, The Palms, Veteran, Chatsworth, Tamaree, Curra and Gunalda are 4570, and so are Kandanga and Imbil up the valley toward the forestry. The streets people mean by the hill above the river will not show their shape in that number. A photo from the street and from the top shows the crest before anyone is committed.

The lower paddock has had the Mary through it

River

The lower paddock has had the Mary through it

A container is a poor home for valuables on ground the river has already covered. Water at the sill comes in, and an empty shell can lift. Tools and fencing on higher ground are a different decision from household goods in the low paddock.

Imbil and Kilkivan are normal shed country

Forestry

Imbil and Kilkivan are normal shed country

The district mixes forestry, small cattle blocks, horse properties and lifestyle acreage, and the storage story is the same: the shed was never built, or it filled. Kilkivan, 4600, on the way to the South Burnett, is a normal order for machinery spares. Imbil and Kandanga are narrower and more timbered.

The boat lives at the ramp. The lockup lives on the hill

Bay gear

The boat lives at the ramp. The lockup lives on the hill

Fishing gear for people running to Tin Can Bay, 4580, is a regular enquiry, and the delivery address is often the hill house, not the ramp. Cooroy, 4563, back toward the coast range, is another steep-drive conversation. A crane from the street works where there is standing room and nothing in the air above the lift.

Crests, the Mary and forestry blocks

The drive climbs, breaks over a crest, then turns. What happens?

A tilt bed usually cannot follow that shape while the deck is up. We look at a 10ft, a different pad, or a crane from the street onto the shelf. Photos from the bottom and the top are what decide it.

The lower paddock has had the Mary through it. Sensible for valuables?

No. The box will not keep that water out, and an empty one can shift. Use higher ground, or keep anything you cannot dry in the house. Tools on a rise are a fair use.

Are containers a normal shed toward Imbil and Kilkivan?

Yes. Forestry and cattle blocks use them because a built shed is a longer project than a shell on bearers. The track still has to take the truck, and Imbil is tighter and more timbered than a Kilkivan gate.

Hill crest, river flat, or a forestry track?

Gympie streets, Imbil, or Kilkivan. A photo of the drive from the bottom helps more than the postcode.
