Sand under the melons, black clay a paddock over
Stock held for Chinchilla is grouped with the other local drops, and the truck is quoted to the gate, not to the highway. The town sits on the Warrego with Charleys Creek through the middle. Off the bitumen, the same farm can be melon sand in one paddock and cracking clay in the next.

Roads
East and west along the Warrego
Chinchilla itself is 4413. West, Miles is 4415 where the Leichhardt crosses. Condamine is 4416 and Meandarra 4422. East, Brigalow is 4412 and Warra 4411. Dalby is a different booking, not a Chinchilla afterthought. Kogan sits off the highway on this side and needs the road named.

Corners
Sand drains, then it lets a point load through
Melon paddocks on sand or red loam are often drivable a day after rain that would still shut a black-soil road. What sand does not do is spread the weight of a corner casting. Pads or bearers under each corner, checked again after the first wet, stop the frame twisting.

Heat
A closed steel room on this side of the range
Summer inside a shut box is not a small thing out here. Tools, pipe and steel fittings cope. Batteries, chemicals and anything in a plastic drum need thought, shade and vents before January, not after. Say what is going in.

Two boxes
One trip is worth arranging
Two units for the one block are cheaper in time if they share the truck. Tell us both lengths when the order is placed, and whether a side loader has room to set a 40ft down. A missed measurement at a gate past Miles or Tara is another full day. Photos of the turn-in and the surface, taken after the last rain, are the useful ones.
Sand, camps and a shared truck
The packing area is sand, not the black clay. What goes under the corners?
Pads, heavy bearers or compacted base under each casting. Sand drains, which is why you can drive it, and it still lets a point load sink. Look again after the first wet. Clay elsewhere on the farm is a separate, slower problem.
A camp gate has its own rules. What do you need first?
Who must sit the induction, which hour a truck may arrive, and whether your crane or telehandler will take the lift off our trailer. Without that, the shell sits at the grid. Send it before the day is promised.
Is there a point sending two units on the one truck?
Yes, when both are for the same block or the same stretch of highway. Name both lengths early. A second trip out past Miles is a long way to go for a measurement that could have been in the first call.
