Wide Bay
Cane ground inland, sand toward Bargara, silt by the Burnett
Stock held for Bundaberg is drawn for the farm or the coastal block, and the delivery is quoted to that address. Inland cane has some body to it. Sandy blocks toward the coast pretend to be firmer than they are.

Three grounds
Town, cane, and the coastal sand
Bundaberg and the coastal names people use, Bargara, Innes Park, Burnett Heads and Moore Park Beach, share 4670, and they are not the same booking. A tilt bed in Norville is not a lift into a tight Bargara yard. Gin Gin, 4671, is cattle toward the ranges. Childers is cane country, and the main street was not laid out for a wide load at school time.

Farms
Headland drains and harvest traffic
Cane, small crops and macadamias have entries a rigid can use, until a headland drain hides under grass or a July crossing is wet in January. Harvest puts slow machinery on the district roads. It does not stop a delivery. It changes the sensible hour. Chemical, drums and irrigation fittings want a lock that stays dry.

The river
Height is what keeps the inside dry
A container sheds rain from above. It does not stop water that reaches the door sill, and an empty shell can lift once the water is deep enough. People here already know what the Burnett did on their place. Put the floor above that mark, on bearers if the high ground is awkward for the truck.

Sand
Four corners, and loose sand under the lawn
Near Bargara the weight goes down the corner castings, and on loose sand those corners work in over a season until a door needs a shoulder. Pads, hardwood bearers or compacted road base under each corner belong there before the truck leaves. Stay on the formed drive.
River height, harvest and sandy corners
Does a higher pad keep Burnett water out of the contents?
The height does. The steel does not. Once water is at the sill it comes through, and an empty shell can shift. Set the floor above the level your block has already seen. A low corner is how a season of drums gets wet.
Which part of the year makes a farm delivery harder?
Summer storms on the heavier soils, and harvest on the roads. Silt near the river holds water for days, so those mornings move. Tell us if you are mid-run and we will not aim at the same window as the haul-outs.
What should the corners stand on in sand near Bargara?
Something that spreads the load past the casting: a pad, a heavy bearer, or compacted road base. Set the level while the truck is still there, and look again after the first wet. A door that suddenly binds is usually the packing, not the locking bars.
